  Julian Spencer - Robinson R22 Helicopter The helicopter is an American built Robinson R22, based at Headcorn and owned by 'Thurston Helicopters'. This will only be Julian’s 2nd year displaying the helicopter after extensive training for the past 18months (self taught). He flies both fixed wing and rotary aircraft. Julian has been working as a stuntman in the film industry for the past 21years, He has over 75 film credits, including Air America, Cliffhanger, 3 Bond films to Saving Private Ryan to name a few, but in his spare time his passion is flying.  
 

Rob Davies - P51 Mustang.

The North American Aviation P51 Mustang was a long range single seat fighter aircraft that entered service with allied air forces in the middle years of World War II and has remained in some air forces until the early 1980’s. This aircraft was built in 1931 and has been modified to a two seater. Rob joined the Air Force in 1962 as a 15 year old Apprentice, where he served in Aden for 2 years working, mainly, on Blackburn Beverly's. During the last 5 years in the Air Force, he was on the mobile air movements Squadron, where, for the most part, he worked on C-130 Hercules aircraft. Rob left the Air Force in 1972, to pursue a career in Engineering and regularly displays the Mustang at air shows in the UK and overseas.

 
 

Chris Jesson – Stampe SV4.

The SV4 was designed as a biplane tourer/trainer aircraft in the early 1930’s by Stampe et Vertongen; the aircraft at the Hamstreet Show was built in 1948 and is based at Headcorn Airfield.

 
 
Alan Garside – Glider Display

Enjoy this majestic dance of the skies, the glider will be towed from Challock Gliding Club by a tow aircraft and released over head to start the display. After the loops and rolls that the aircraft will demonstrate during its decent it will land at the purpose made airstrip at the show ground , so get your cameras ready… Alan who will be piloting the glider started flying in 1972 joining the Kent Gliding Club. He became a Gliding Instructor in 1978 and Chief Flying Instructor in 1995. Alan and his wife Julie, regularly take their glider abroad for cross country flying including mountain flying in Spain. He has attained the FAI Gliding Gold 'C' Badge with three Diamonds.
 
  Cap 10 – Tony Richards.

The Mudry CAP 10 is a two-seat training aerobatic aircraft first built in 1970 and still in production. The CAP 10 is one of the most successful aerobatic training aircraft in the world, The engine is a 180 hp Lycoming AEIO-360 fuel injection engine, fully lubricated in inverted flight. The Decathlon is a two-seat fixed conventional gear light airplanes designed for flight training and personal use and capable of sustaining aerobatic stresses between +6g and -5g.
 
 

Decathlon – Tony Richards.

The Decathlon entered production in the United States in 1970; James May of BBC Top Gear fame owns an 8KCAB Decathlon with the registration G-OCOK - a reference to his catch-phrase on the programme. Tony Richards has been flying since his early teens at which time he learnt to fly gliders. He then moved on to powered aircraft, and having gained his Private Pilots Licence he went on to fly many different types of aircraft, becoming a Display pilot, notably in his own Pitts Special. On gaining a Commercial Licence and Instructor Rating, he went on to fly at many Air displays. He flew with “The Utterly Butterly” Wingwalking Team for many seasons. He has an Unlimited Display Authorisation, is also a Display Pilot Examiner and is Chief Pilot for the Tiger Club, based at Headcorn Airfield. Tony will be displaying the cap 10 and also the Decathlon, So after his first display he will be flying back to Headcorn to jump into the second aircraft, and then racing back for the final display, If all goes to plan!!

Merlin Balloons operates Champagne Balloon Flights in the area, they have been operating out of Hamstreet for over 10 years and weather permitting they will inflate one of their balloons on both days.
