Elizabeth
Roberts - Dressage Display - Saturday Day Time
Elizabeth Roberts will be bringing along one of her dressage/event
horses to show us some basic dressage movements and an insight in
how to train a horse to do some basic dressage movements.
Elizabeth has been riding since she was ‘knee high to a grasshopper’
and has competed at The Royal International Horse Show, Royal Windsor
and at Olympia International Horse Show. She has qualified her dressage
horses from Novice through to Advance Medium for the British Dressage
Regional Championships and has gained qualifying Championship points
at Advanced Level as well as gaining valuable experience of riding
FEI Prix St George tests. Sadly, her Advanced dressage horse sustained
a serious injury in the field in May 2011 and had to be put down.
Her two other horses are quite new to Dressage, and Elizabeth will
be demonstrating for us riding Master H whom she has owned for 5 years.
Harry, as he is known at home, came to Elizabeth to be a ‘Dressage’
horse but he had other ideas and has gone on to excel in Showjumping
and Eventing. Together they managed a good round to finish 11th in
the BRC Team Eventers Challenge in 2009 at Blenheim International
Horse Trials. He has also won the Chilham Park Eventers Challenge
on two consecutive occasions.
Elizabeth and Harry aim to show us some lower level dressage movements,
as well as explaining how some of these movements are executed, from
leg yields through to walk pirouettes. At the end, they will perform
a simple Dressage to Music routine which they rode to gain qualification
for the 2012 British Dressage Freestyle to Music Regional Winter Championship.
